Hey there! My name is Khatz Coleman and I am an artist that has a love and passion for animation. As a kid I had a deep connection with the arts, being involved in music and arts programs in both my school and community. My after-school passion became more than that for me as a grew older. Now I’m an animator working hard to bring creativity and innovation to this industry.
I mainly specialize in puppet rigging and character animation, but I can do prop designing and video compositing when the opportunity arises. I previously worked on a project, “Restock Day”, as an animator, prop designer and video compositor. While I was working on this project, I learned a lot about how studios operate, and applied it to my studies at the Academy of Art University, where I am currently pursuing a MFA in 2D Animation.
When I’m not drawing or working on animation, I’m practicing with my tenor saxophone, reading a good book or trying to attempt at sign language.
